Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23 1975) is an American actress. She is most well-known for her roles in Kiss Bang Bang (2006), Gone Baby Gone (2007, Made of Honor (2008)), Trucker (2008) and Source Code (2011). Her leading role in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011) and Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018) has earned her praise. Monaghan was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actress. She also played Sarah Lane in the drama series The Path (2016-18). Monaghan was the main character in the 2020 Netflix thriller, Messiah. It was pulled after just one season. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Monaghan has two brothers older than her, Bob and John. Monaghan has mostly Irish and German roots, and was raised Catholic.She graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1994. After graduation, Monaghan relocated to Chicago to study journalism and then began modeling. She modelled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. In 1999, she had only one semester remaining to finish her degree in journalism. Then, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Prior to her acting career, she worked as model and featured in many magazines and catalogs. The first two TV appearances, which were in a secondary role she played Caroline Busse in episodes of Young Americans, which aired in 2000. The second time she appeared on TV was on Law & Order: Special Victims Unified in "Consent" that first aired on the 19th of January 2001. Monaghan also made her first big screen appearance in Perfume that year in the role of Henrietta. Her next film, also playing a role of support in 2002, was Unfaithful, starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
