Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is known for his smart and hard-edged characters in action films. Together, they've appeared in films grossing more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19 1955 in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey) and was living on the United States military base. His family moved to U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked at a bank and his father was a welding as well as a factory worker. Willis was an avid drama fan during high school. While working in the New York City café, his name was "discovered". He then was able to be seen in a variety of off-Broadway shows. A night, he was working as a bartender and was noticed by a casting agent who was impressed by his character. He needed bartenders to play a small role in a movie. Willis was involved in countless auditions before landing the role in the well-known romantic comedy, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. Some see it as an exercise in preparation to test Willis the role he played in Die Hard (1988), in which he was the sole defender of a gang international of thieves at an Los Angeles skyscraper. The actor reprised his role as McClane in the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) that was set at snowbound Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers seek to repatriate a corrupt South American general. A sequel, Die Hard with the vengeance (1995) was a smash success. It featured Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shopowner who is forced to help McClane in a terrorist bombing campaign that took place during a hot New York day.
